my opinion is that yours is male based on the patterning but mostly due to your cuban's head shape. I researched this fish for a while before I bought 3 last month from TUIC. HOLY HELL ARE THEY AGGRESSIVE to anything that moves. The only fish that they don't attack is a fish 10 times their size. But they will briefly stand their ground which I have never seen such a small cichlid do to a fish 10 times bigger then them. I had to sell one, and the other two are separated by dividers. What

This fish has evolved over the last 20 million years in the waters of Cuba with no other Cichlids besides the Black Nasty cichlid, which is another insanely aggressive fish. I'm no longer sure what my plan is for my two remaining Cubans. I may just sell them after I raise them up for a few months.
