I bought this little guy and think it is a cuban cichlid. What do you guys think.

Yeah, I believe it is, but it’s bands are thick, most Cubans I’ve seen the bands are more broken up and not has thick.
it has the shape of a Cuban with coloration of a Convict lol
That's what i was thinking lol. Maybe as it grows bigger it will be easier to tell. I think its a cuban though.

It is a cuban, females stay smaller, more like 6"ish max. Yours does look female but a little early to be positive imo.
