Cuban Cichlids. Need YOUR HELP!

A buddy of mine raised a pair from about that size. If I remember correctly, the male, who grew to a solid 12" ,didn't get his white background until he hit 4" or so.

He killed his female at this size, too.

If kept in optimal conditions, not only will they have brilliant white, sometimes you could get to see a lovely violet sheen. They eat like pigs, so a green pea once in a while would be good for their stomachs.
But they are slow growers for sure!

Just give them time. They all look similar until about 3-4".
