Cuban cichlids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, so much for THAT plan. Order arrived today - the platinum angels and the marbled convicts are all doing well, but all cubans were long dead in the bags. Knew there was a problem the instant I broke the seal on the box, it STANK something fierce.

It was the angelfish that spurred the order, but once I'd decided on the cubans I was pretty excited about them. I checked my usual supplier who is much closer to me and they actually happened to have some, so as a knee-jerk reaction I ordered some replacements through them. They'll be here on Monday. But given I wasn't trying to bulk out an order for crazy shipping costs across the boarder, I decided to play it safe and just order two - I can keep them safe by keeping them separate right from the start. I'll let them grow out and either pick one to keep, or if I love them both I'll make plans for two more solo tanks.

Bummed about the 5 DOA today though!

Thats is a drag, will you get a refund at least?

Oh no sorry to hear, that’s the trouble living in Canada getting fish delivered from the U.S. the travel is risky and not many sites deliver here, but the U.S. has a better quality of American cichlids available I find, you can always try aquarists across Canada there based out of Vancouver I think so at least it’s shipping from within Canada.

Sorry to hear.. Hopefully you get a refund and the replacements work out for you.. 🤞

They're in Victoria, and where I buy 99% of my fish. But when he doesn't have what I want, I look elsewhere.

No refund, just a store credit. Which is what their policy is but is annoying since shipping to me was astronomical, I'm not about to pay it again. So it's pretty much just a loss. Shame, I'm pretty sure it was due to the packing. Bags were quite small for fish the size that the cubans were. The angels and convicts, who were MUCH, MUCH smaller, were in the same sized bags and they are doing very well. But every one of the cubans died.

I'm sorry i was late, Sinister but Black Tuna on here has awesome Cubans on Facebook he is Cichlid Dojo last i checked he was selling some Proven Pairs and he is in California
