I'll tell you what I have had one Cuban years ago and that is the most colorful and bright Cuban I have ever seen. I too at first thought it was a hybrid of some sort.

I think the pair that I got are indeed cuban juveniles.... they were a bit skinny when I got them. Will post better pics around weekend. Any idea how to sex them?!

that fish in that pic is still not its 100% it gets much more vibrant with much more darker pattern

I'm guessing Cuban cichlid... but I might be wrong... specially at this size! It's around 2.5" now.

Man this fish is amazing - pretty much has EBJD colors!

I have a feeling pictures don't do this fish justice - Does anyone have good pictures of an adult showing these deep colors?

If so I just might need a new tank
