I just let my dog grab the fish out of a bucket and watch the KILLING begin.:headbang2

You have to much time on your hands if you are sitting there thinking what is the painless way to kill it.:screwy:

AMEN! my wife says wacking it on the ground is cruel! its quick and painless!

This is what I do :) Bag and whack! It is only cruel in my opinion fromthe stand point of those watching.

Clove Oil or overdose with MS222 (if you can get it from a vet or lab) ar by far the most humane in my experience, these are like anaesthetising something to death. Or if fishing we often use an 'icky stick' (very sharp point to the brain) for large fish in the field, very quick if done right.

whatever.

Back to my point. Freezing the fish, I don't think is painless. Cull your fish however you like, but believing in freezing the fish brings them a peaceful death is just plain ignorant.
Anything will die if you freeze it except that one microscopic creature called the --?-- bear.
By freezing, from the point of being freshly alive to the point of death, there is something going on in between and it's a long suffering.

Freezing is painless can never be a fact unless the fish says so. They are the ones who feel it.

It is pretty much a fact, that if you put them in the freezer they will fall asleep quickly and dream dreams that only fish can dream. When they finally wake up the giant grouper in the sea will let them swim with all fishes that have passed. They will all be in harmony with each other. There glass cages broken and suffering gone. The piranhas and the guppys will be buddys. The goldfish that gave there lives for food will swim in peace with those that devoured them. And they will all swim happily ever after. SURPRISED YOU DID NOT KNOW THAT.:grinno:

How is it a fact bro?

Supposedly with there simpler body stucture there organs and brain quickly shuts down. But i agree smashing them is the best way to make it quick.

No can you plz explain how that bottle things works??? Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. How would that slight change in pressure kill them?? Going from the top to the bottom of a tank is a bigger change in pressure on them.

C'on bro. BS or not, the way of proving it is in your hands. You can try it yourself with a feeder. Im not trying to pull your legs. I did it before. I used to know this cambodian guy when I was fighting bettas. He showed me that to take out the badly injured bettas.
Youre right. It's a pressure thing. Put a betta in the bottle. Stick your thumb as deep as you can to clog the hole tight then flick your finger off the hole with a tight hard flick. Im not saying stick youre whole thumb in there. You can't. That other guy just didn't get the instruction. Flick, not pull. How can you flick if your whole thumb is in the bottle? Flick your thumb.

Anyways.
If they can get sick by the cold then that means the cold does harms.

You can't get sick by the cold. You can get sick by a cold virus though.

Hypothermia is different for things above and below water. Above water your lungs will sieze up at a certain temperature, prior to that your extremeties will proably already be numb, tingling or burning. It's not uncommon for people who've died from hypothermia to take off their clothes. There's a theory that at the later stages of hypothermia you get a very warm, hot sensation and this inspires freezing people to take off their clothes.

Freezing animals in water is very different. In water ice crystals form and stab into the creature on a microscopic level. Even the water in their body will crystalize into ice and stab them from the inside. We can't know for sure if the fish is conscious or not when all of this takes place.

Instead, use a hammer
