My 9" Ropefish used to cup his fin and shake a lot and kind of wrap around the 9" female when she was still alive. Ever since she died he has been more withdrawn and I haven't seen him act like that since to my other female Rope. Maybe I would have even got some babies if she didn't decide to starve herself to death...

Yup, a lot of my larger males would "flex" their stuff... often times they would flex and loosen flex and loosen and then it would pulsate LOL.. A friend of mine has a huge female endi and she regularily releases hundreds of eggs into his tank, but they all rot as there is no male ready to fertilize

the pair is still sticking together.the female is almost twice the size and thickness.I have been increasing water changes to 4x 25 percent weekly and i am keeping fingers crossed.
