Curiousity struck me this morning

Umm don't think it's legal to divert water from a body of water unless you owned water rights but might be different where you live. Maybe where you say live on means your are the owner as it's on your land is this what you are saying

You're able to here, simply because just about everyone saves money on water by pulling out of a lake and running their irrigation with it. Hence why ontop of low rain levels, the lakes are drying up quite a bit. This year was a TON of rain for us and I there were 6-10 foot rises in small-medium sized lakes. Lakes that had the water level 10 ft below and 20 feet away from their dock that was dry were nearly taken over. My boat was able to safely pass into a lake that I have not been able to in 2 years.

The lake that I would love to live on has a diverse population of species that I could literally go catch and put into the tank. Wild shiners, LMB, gar, white and black crappie, pickerel, several species of bluegill/sunfish, the only thing I've very rarely seen and never identified was catfish.

Gar pickerel and LMB would be cool, I have 0 idea about natives though so that combo may not be good

It's size that determines what can live together with all those fish, including crappie and bluegill species. It would all work out together minus the wild shiners unless they were the full grown adult 12-14" or larger range which are common in this lake, or I should say they were when I was fishing it 4 years ago on a regular basis. Since then a friend of mine moved.
