Current Betta Set-up

Hi all, thought I'd share the current set-up I have my white halfmoon Betta in. Originally had a Betta Trio 3 tank, but due to furniture changing etc; I'm having to house this guy in one of my 12x8x8 tanks.

Mixed feelings on it, it's well filtered, heavily planted; and confident I can keep on top of its maintenance, but I'll be watching my Betta closely in the following days and weeks to monitor his behaviour compared to the 32l he was in.

I do subscribe to the info that 20 litre/ 5 gallon tanks are the smallest easily cycled tanks to maintain for a Betta, at 12 litres this flies in the face of it, until such time that I can set-up something better for him, longer term

I've ordered an upgrade to it, this is just temporary but wanted it to be as comfortable as possible

a lot lol. Nah right now, I have two 12l's, a 20l, and a 25l cube; but I'm constantly changing things; I sold off a couple more small tanks I had recently

anubias petite, trident java fern, normal java fern, marimo moss balls, java moss; then some pothos

Update on my Betta, I moved him into the new version of the Fluval Spec V. I've had this tank before, but the light popped on me and id passed it on, so it was interesting to try the updated version. The light is much superior, everything else is much the same.

This is a more suitable 20 litres for the Betta, no plans to move him to anything else; he's already started making bubble nests so I'm confident he'll do well. Also oddly, he is obsessed with the outflow, I already stuffed it as much as I could, but he loves to swim right at it. Weird lol

Some almond leaves and buffering soil to reduce the pH slightly also, seems to help him anyway
