Current making powerhead instead of Under Gravel Jets?

I'm setting up a 75 gallon Mbuna cichlid tank and was going to put in UGJ's. My concern is that the Mbuna will dig them up.

So do you think something like this will work to keep the "stuff" off the sand until my filters can get it?

My tank will be in the wall so sand cleanings won't be the easiest..

it'll work. but its gonna be a fine balance between keeping junk off the bottom and blowing sand everywhere, and those are expensive.
