current setup or add a reactor

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
alright the stuff, from pet smart, it was actually a little cheaper then kenfish so the plan is to use the whole little in the top tray in my fx5, for my size tank it says i only need 200ml but lets wee how good this shizz is, and ill place thee liter of carbon in my media reactor type thing, so in a couple of days i will hit you up with some feedback

Look forward to reading your review.

Cant wait for your feedback bro. Hope it comes out as nicely as I think it will.

well i did a 60% wc yesterday (after not doing one for 10days) tonight my nitrates are 10 ppm !!!
my water is looking pretty clear
so my goal with the purigen is crystal clear water, and nitrates of 5 ppm post water change.
if that can happen it will be a 40 dollars well spent, im still waiting on the shipment. i think i should look for a more accurate nitrate test kit as well, im using the api freshwater kit but 10 is orange 20 is orange red, i would like something that is more concrete, any one have any thoughts?

I use the API kit, but in the past I've used the RedSea kit. The RedSea kit is more accurate (every 5ppm rather than every 10), and you can test nitrite and nitrate with one sample.

i got my purigen in the mail today!!!!, but its really fine, alot finer then i thought. the only media bags i have are 800 micron so thats not gonna work.

so now i have to fine a finer bag, maybe 300 micron. what kind of media bags are you using?
also im gonna hate to pay shipping on a 3 $ media bag so hopefully i can find something local

I picked up some cheapie bags at petsmart. They cost a whopping 99 cents each. :)
