Hey i'v been knocking about the forums, checking out diy threads for a while now and i'v decided to do one of my own on my current 75 gallon setup :).

Fish Stock:
8" Gold Severum "Heros Severus"
4" Royal Pleco "Panaque Nigrolineatus"
6 x 4" Spanner Barbs "Puntius Lateristriga"

I purchesed the sev no more than 2 weeks ago from a lfs, he had ich. when i asked the store clerk if he had been treated for it i was told "he hadnt because the tank they were keeping him/her in was run on the same filtration system as the rays". I was shocked to hear that they had put him and 6 friends of a similar size in the same filtration system as rays Knowing that they had ich! so he/she had to be saved. Already looking better now, whitespot was gone in 2 days, being a large fish hes been a bit of a pain in the arse to get eating but i'v managed to get him eating bloodwork and brine shrimp which is good i guess, just need to ween the swine onto a staple. The royal is my pride and joy, easily my favorite fish, and imo by far the best looking. found this little jem in a different lfs behind a over turned peaice of bogwood and he only cost me £28! Bargain hopefully he'll man up and start to grow soon. The spanner barbs were given to me, but since then i have come to love these little critters. However somethings telling me the reason that the sev won't take food off the surface is because the barbs are so Rowdy. Currently looking to get another Sev, need some opinions on the sex of the current one. it has what looks like male markings but not an abundance of them.

Filtration:
Eheim Professionel 3 2080
Fluval plus 4
Vecton 200 UV sterilization unit

I was lucky enought to have the eheim bought for me as a birthday gift which was excellent, if not i'd have to have sponged off people in excess of £200 and thats without the media that had to be bought seprately :O.
However the big eheim has yet to fail me yet so i' more than happy with it. The vecton unit was purchesed about 2 months previous of the eheim to be used on a coldwater setup i had at the time. I soon sold that tank so the uv was used on this setup instead. I was running the output of the eheim through the vecton unit and back into the tank, i eventually decided against this and began running it off the output of a fluval plus 4 internal filter that i had lying around, this worked well as it meant there were no flow restrictions on my eheim and it meant i could still prefilter the water entering my uv, two birds with one stone i guess :) I'm looking at possibley getting another pro 3 2080 in the distant future (when i get a job).

Tank Dimentions:
Length: 60"
Heght : 20"
Width : 15"

Had this setup running for a good 4 months now and its still doing me a goodun, picked up the tank and cabinet for a bargain price at £150.
considering that the stand and hood is all varnished hard wood and none of that lino coated chip bored crap i was happy to fork out.

The floors open to critisism guys, lemme know what you think on the setup.
If anyone here considers themself a severum expert i'd be realy happy if you could contact me just for some good advice on them as i'm somewhat new to keeping them :)
