I tried to catch a few when I was in Florida a few years ago because my friends dared me. Let me tell you, they are fast, can jump and are slippery as heck! Not to mention they can scratch the hell out of you. Luckily they don't have teeth!
I have a pic of me petting one at Myakka State Park in Florida years ago. I will see if I can find it. Obviously, in that park they are humanized. Good luck on your endeavor.
the secret is rub dung all over yourself(so they can't smell you) then run up with a cast net and yell: buyaka buyaka we we weeee.
to much time on your hands in ol miss uh???? i'm sure oddball could use some help cleaning tanks
I don't care, I will be so happy!! LOL!! I've been trying to catch one for almost a year now....well, really only about a month of really trying...but wanted to for over a year!
Hahaha...classic you guys. They are a lot harder to catch then I orgininally thouhgt they would be. I generally want to just take pictures of them and show proof that I caught them. The challenge of catching them is enough for me. Its pretty easy gettin close to them, I normally can get close enough to touch them, its actually gettin a GRIP on them and holding them. I mean they are STRONG for their size!! Kinda 'slippery' too...those plates makes it hard to grab. Would be kewl to keep one though, but I'm sure it would tear up the yard/house. I really want a pet skunk though!!
