Curupira vs Malabaricus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
how much did you get yours for? I suscribed his stock list be he hasn't sent be an update for AGES!

You're not alone, I haven't received a list from him since late October, 2012. I believe he relocated his facility - may be the reason why he hasn't been as active, I am not sure. $200 + $50 shipping to Ontario for H. curupira.

curu! They are much more interesting and beautiful. mlas are a bit boring since they are living logs, only active at night.
personal choice tbh my mala never really stops swimming unless its pogged .
alot depends on the setup and how there brought up so i would say depending on aquarium size and personal likes go with your eye

In a solo environment the curupira is more aggressive than the mala, but a mala is aggressive in any environment. When I first got my curu he would attack the glass and he bit the guy at the lfs, but after putting him in a community environment he shows almost no aggression. My mala was still attacking tankmates in a community environment, and wasn't nearly as active unless he was begging for food.

the only problem is finding one! lol

I got couple of suppliers that are just awaiting for my orders for this wolf. As I've read mala are more like a sitting log? Curu are really active and like to swim alot?

Yes, mala's are considerably inactive compared to curupiras. I know curupira's are more expensive, but it's well worth the money IMO.

I think curupira is the most beautiful of the wolves. They are simply stunning fish!

My mala was a BLAST to feed/watch when it was young; however, it has really become more of a decoration now that it's bigger. Once mine hit the 12" mark, he really calmed down. He just sits on the bottom and waits for me to put shrimp by his mouth. When he was young, he used to rip silversides out of my hand. It was awesome! I love my mala, but that's because I grew him from a small size. If I get another in the future, I will probably NOT choose a mala. Go curu.
