in less that 24 hours the spray paint won't be fully cured yet and will be easier to remove chemically, especially if you cleaned the glass well. I would cover whatevery you don't want green/black/ and yellow in whatever room your painting in, overspray will be EVERYWHERE!

Totally agree on the pulling of tape before the paint is fully cured, once cured it'll start tearing on the edges and look ragged, that'll ruin an otherwise good paint job.

Ever thought about just having the design done in just vinyl? As long as you applied the 'sticker' right, shouldn't have any bubbles behind it...

I thought about painting the back of my tank until I found my map of the world that is plastic coated...haha last I checked my goldfish in my cycling 90Gallon was rounding Cape horn!

BTW, I have that SAME sponge filter in this tank

My tank is the same size, how well has that filter worked? I only see a Pleco, any others in there? My tank also sports a air driven box filter as well, as I used sand, didn't want to bother with any motors right yet...Thhanks!

I am going to use spray paint now...just need to get the green and yellow (today) and move the tank OUT of this room. I am not spraying in there...nooo way lol

I dont want to just do a john deere sticker...I never get them down with NO air bubbles and I want the rest of the background black. I am kinda picky about the backgrounds...I usually paint them with spray paint. I have some that dont have any or just the paper kind but i am working on that. Lots of little projects and moving around need to be done

That 58 with the sponge filter also has 20 festae grow outs from my wild pair. I use this tank for fry...it has the spong and a fluval 104 so I cant really comment on how it would work for a fish tank on its own....I like them if that helps any.

Cool, I am only using the sponge as a temp so it just has to keep my Plecos and that goldfish happy for a week or maybe 2 until I build my mega tube filter going...I do know that my bala shark love it too, eats all the things that attach to it(needs a heater before he get put in though)!

Finished...and it almost came out good lol. It went perfect until i tried to take the stencil off after the green before the yellow. I took one letter off and I thought mmm maybe its still too wet. It wasnt...it was probably perfect becasue after I let it dry longer the green paint got stringy when the stencil came off. That left green paint streaks where the yellow went. I should have practiced on some plain glass maybe...but o well it looks good from a distance and I know for next time.

That's your office!!!!! Wow!!!!!!
Yeah that's what I was thinking. You have a festae in your office, I have a picture of one

I kind of like the cracking. It gives it an old weathered look. Nice job.

lol i also have some f1 peru oscars wild rokteli sev's and f1 red head geos in my office

You know...someone else that works here said the same thing about the old weathered look.

Great work on the paint job. It does have a terrific antiquated quality and appeal to it.

But answer this for me, if you can.

Why is it, the terms "old" and "weathered" seem to always be used in the same sentence? That's like referring to "CHOMPERS" and "Oddball" in the same sentence, with both sentences being synonomous (jk).

^ ...If you have a John Deere stencil on your fish tank?

I think it came out great. I agree on the "weathered look" too, it makes it look better IMO. I can't believe all those tanks are at work either, how do you get stuff done? :)
