Custom 4x8 FT Tank!

Hey everyone. About to start building my first massive custom tank. Will be one of four I am planning. Will be 4x8 feet by 21 inches tall. Plywood bottom, 55 gallon side panels as the glass all around.

Bottom frame complete besides the under supports for the plywood.

What will you be sealing the plywood with?

you need to add supports between the bottom wood and top wood where the legs are. right now all the weight is being carried by the screws which is a very bad thing.

I'll be using pond liner epoxy to seal them. And the supports on the sides are just trim pieces. The actual plywood is sitting on the 4x4s. Framed under with 2x4. I still may add those supports for asthetic reasons.

Bottom framing is done, side supports added. Plywood panel installed. Tonight I start the frame for the top. Pond liner, lighting is on the way. Plumbing coming in this weekend.

Rough finish of the top frame complete. Used two by fours to surround it. And screwed a one by two on the inside to rest on top of the glass.
Have a few more supports to add, need to pick up more lumber and plumbing parts for the tank. And lots of sanding prepping it for stain and making it all pretty.
My Belgian Malinois loyally standing gaurd as I work on this. (really she's waiting to steal a chunk of wood to gnaw on).
