It is big enough for now, but eventuallly you will have to make it bigger when it is fully grown. So why waste the money building another one?

Not only that it's easier to find lumber in 8' sections so builing 8x4x4 would be easier with less cuts in the wood. Less work is a good thing. :)

Or 8'x4'x8'! :headbang2

You COULD put a Ball Python in something like that, but you would have to spend more $$$ on creating a zillion hides to make it feel secure than the enclosure itself.... which my friend is doing for another small snake. :screwy:

Exactly.

Not like I ever "see" mine in their cages...I keep them in racks. Ball and Blood pythons are probably among the most sedentary reptiles in existence. Nature designed them to sit, wait, sit, wait, not move, sit, wait, EAT, sit, wait, not move....you get the idea. In captivity, 9 times out of 10 a cage that is too large for a ball ends up causing stress.

yeah thats why I like Boas they tend to be a little more active. some times a little too active when you find them on the coffee table.

Even better but realistically I'd be happy to see him with 8x4x4 and not everyone has room larger than that so let's not scare him off. :)

What? No room for 8' tall enclosure? IMPOSSIBLE! ;)

I RARELY see my ball python, except when hes hungry or at night. 99% of the time, the cage looks empty with the light turns on. Even he does his excretion inside the cave :irked:
