I am getting a tank built but I am unsure if I should get "low iron glass". I just want 7'x3'x2' tank that looks like a normal tank you find at lfs. Do normal tank use this type of glass? On a side note I am trying to make this tank as cheap as possible.

sorry but ive never heard of low iron glass
 
I wouldnt try and make a super cheap tank cuz that is alot of water you are dealing with. Especially it being your first house it would be a shame to see it ruined by a tank splitting in your living room. GL though

I would pay what i could if I had the money... Glass isn't cheap period ...
 
"Low iron glass" is actually a superior form of glass from what I have been told by the builder, super clear or something, just not sure if it is worth it?
 
low iron glass(Starphire glass )30% clearer than regular aquarium glass.
It has the clarity of acryllic with the durability of glass.so i read.
 
Does anyone know the weight difference between Low Iron Glass and normal aquarium glass?
 
not sure but i think its the same just with out iron that that normal glass has(it just more pure)
