Howdy. I am having trouble finding good info on Cutteri online other then the fact that they are awesome...

Currently I have a 38 gallon tank with 6 super shy rainbow cichlids and a pleco. Im thinking about adding a breeding pair of Cutteri to spice things up.

My questions are:

Is this tank going to get too spicy? I have read they Cutteri are more peaceful. Another few sites say that they can get quite aggressive. Will they tolerate the 6 rainbow cichlids?

How about Dithers? I was thinking of adding a small group (5-7) of larger tetras.

The tank has a nice piece of drift wood with some small rock caves all around. substrate is sand. Decent amount of java fern in the back between the rocks.

Honesty any and all info regarding this species would be appreciated, as well as your thoughts or opinions on my setup.

Thanks!

How about if I removed the Rainbows or Most of the the Rainbows? I love the Rainbow's color but the personality is boring me to death...

Breeding cutteri will tear up the rainbows. I personally love the cutteri. Breeding dress is really striking. I'd move all the rainbows and go for a pair in the 38G.

I do have several open 20 gallon tanks.

I am kinda hoping for a mixed species tank on the 38, or at least a tank with some more exciting fish. I bet my HRP's would also rip up the rainbows if I moved them over.

What if I ditched the rainbows and put a few pairs of HRP's in the 38, and gave the cutteri their own 20L?

Its hard to find good info on these fish... :irked:

Cutteri...

Only way I know is to find some that have already paired off. Once this happens the female will get super pale. The store I get them from has separated breeding pairs available.
