Well after years of keeping lots of tanks, I currently have 8 tanks running and getting ready to go back to 5. Life has gotten too complicated. I'm going to keep all of my larger tanks and reduce my stock over the next few weeks. I think I'm going to go all out mellow and keep all of my Apisto's, Angels, Zaire Moba colony, South American tanks will stay, and I'm keeping my large Pearsi pair, female Coeruleous, and my Male Asfraci. Everything else will go. I've actually been reducing my stock for a while now but have just recently decided to reduce even more. I work so many hours a week that I just don't have the time anymore. Anyone else cutting back on the amount of tanks and stock you're keeping? I just don't seem to have time to take care of so many tanks but at least I was able to buy a new car so that is a plus lol.

Same here. I have a 200 gallon, three 55 gals. Two 29 gals. and a few small tanks here and there that I am trying to sell in my yard sale today.

Good luck with your yard sale. I have mine on Craigslist at the moment. I'm at the point where having so many tanks is just a hassle and it takes all the fun out of the hobby for me.

When I upgraded from a 75 to a 125 I decided the 20L had to go. Mainly because I'm forced to do water changes with buckets on the 125. 50% every 5 days is enough for now!

I have 3 tanks and a few small ones that are for fry or QT. I find 3 to be the perfect amount for me. More then 3 is just too much work I agree. I also have 3 dogs and a toddler so I can't just do wc all the time.

Seems like I've been trying to do this for years. I have been trying to go with less tanks but more volume. In the past aquariums seem to have taken over our house. Soon they will all be in just one room with the exception of one tank in the family room. They only thing I need to complete my goal is to upgrade a 180g tank with a 240g tank, but that can wait til the right deal is found.

Seems like alot of people in Minnesota are cutting back BIG TIME ive seen 3 huge fish rooms go on sale in the last few weeks.

then you guys on the wrong site, you should be on mMFK (mini MONSTER FISH KEEPERS).
lolololol.
go monster or go home.....

just kidding, im cutting down from 10 to maybe 4, due to winter temp.

I did the same thing about 9 months ago.

I did very well on Craigslist.
I found one guy that took almost everything.
He keeps me updated on how the fish are doing via email pics.
He now has my male Vieja Fenastratus. It breaks my heart to see how big and pretty he has gotten.

Good luck!

I sort of down sized. I went form a 65g to a 120g with the thought of turning the 65g into an bichir tank. After a couple of months with 2 tanks, I decided to just keep the one large tank. If the opportunity came along I would still go bigger but still just have one tank.
