tomorrow is the day im getting my new tank any suggestions for cutting the glas ,im cutting in apart for transport and put it together again:D

just a word of advise... i wouldnt do that... because its alot more harder to secure and put back together rather than acrylic.... NOT unless YOU know WHAT your DOING!!!
you dont wanna risk your prized fish bro...

Acrylic is easier to put back together?? Neither are! Unless you've done it with big tanks before, why not leave it together??

yep im expierienced wit acrylic and its not that hard.... reason why i dont do it my self... is cuz building somethin monster... materials almost pays for a brand new one... glass now thats a different story... NO expierience,, BUT I KNOW ITS HARDER!!!

ok this i s the idea we cut himapart caus were only with 4 guys we can never lift that,
plus piece by piece its easier to go in my livingroom, plus hes 12 years old so he has to be done again caus the acrilc stuff only last 10 to 15 years,so its gonna be fun and remember if anything breaks im still gonna have at least one big window in my self building tank

I have no experience with glass!! remember this before continuing...

are yu cutting the panels into different sizes or sperating the seams and reassembling the same tank later?

if you are disassembling at the seam and it is siliconed, I wouold try a heat gun on the seams. I do this on automotive sealing surfaces that are sealed. Like a oil pan or differential that has no gasket, just silicone sealer. Heat it up for a bit then use a little pressure at the seam with your hand. Like i said before, I have NEVER done this on glass but I don't know why this silicone wouldn't act the same, should work at lower temp then automotive silicone.

and I assume you are going to frame the tank to keep the other panels in place as you rmove others.

just a thought...

lol yeah because its probly not the smartest idea ahaha
