hey bro... NO ONE"S calling you an IDIOT.... we all are just curious if you have done this before!!?? cuz obviously none of us have!!... as far as my expierience with acrylic the top piece is what keeps the tank from bowing and it's practically the cover for the whole tank!! now as far as glass YOU only GOT one piece on top which goes in the middle... but some may think thats only used to hold the glass cover to the tank... and i hope your not thinking the same.... the indiviual pieces on top of glass tanks are for support to hold and stabalize the tank from BOWING!!! now if you dont do that correctly... you will endup destroying your house depending on how big this tank is... i can only imagine its pretty big cuz you and 4 other people cant carry that thing in one piece.....

so good luck man..... there's alot of precaution here!!! IMO!!!:D

ive only had full glass tanks, this one is 300x100x80 cm it has 2 glass plates in the middle that connect the back and the front window, it was a sea tank,it has a filter under it thats about 700 litres, that one was carryable, i think you mean that

I thought when you said it was done you meant that you had already put it back together.
it was a lot of work to get the glass plates come off, that aquarium glue is pretty strong, it was almost impossible to get my knife in between, i was so tired, took a lot of spliff to get me back on track
