Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman and Fish Together?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not impossible. Caimans are fish eaters, but if the fish is large enough it will more then likely leave it alone. Just make sure the fish does not bully the gator. I have seen turtles get along with alligators, but this really is hit or miss.

I used to have a caiman. Wanted one for years. But they are not in any way a "lizard".

I have my 220 to start one off in but I hear they are mean as all heck so not a good "pet" still thinking how I could do the adult tank if you already have plans I want to hear em maybe I can get some ideas lol

They do get very big, and are very aggressive. Fish is their main diet - but crocodilians enjoy snacking on turtles, snakes, frogs, basically whatever they can catch.
If the caiman is well fed, it might co-exist with larger fish - but in situations where the fish can easily actually swim away - ie: in one of those giant exhibit aquariums.
You'd be much better off choosing something that is practical - Water Dragons would be sweet as an alternative.
