I just searched them/talked to some people, it seems like they aren't avid algae eaters.

As it is with most "algae eaters"
 
There are a number of coolwater snails, but most of the ones you are likely to get your hands on are small enough to be eaten by the goldfish. Sorry.

BTW, found what I needed. (JTS) I am not looking for what wouldn't work, I am looking for what WOULD work.
 
I was unaware that apple snails were categorized as "algae eaters"????????

You're looking for a coldwater fish, so it was put in the coldwater section
 
The two most common algae eaters are already "coldwater" so....how cold is cold for you?
 
i dont know if they eat algae, but suckerfish are coldwater bottomfeeders. but they get big
 
Fancy goldfish and pleco (any suckerfish) are bad combo IMO as pleco often attack them and suck on their slime.
