Cycled by feeders help

I like the fishless method because you can add enough ammonia to the tank to support a HEAVY bio-load and go monster as soon as the readings level out.

yes any fish will cycle a tank.

yes, but some not as effectivly as others. and some wont be able to handle the un-cycled tank longer than a day or less.

Hardy fish like zebra danio's or convicts seem to work well from what I've read, but I have to go with the fishless method for the consistency.

Your biggest problem is that your'e going to get 1000 different opinions to this question. I suggest you research it here and on the web. Read up on what a cycle is, why it is important, and the different methods of cycling. Then after you educate yourself decide which method is best for you.

Howdy,

I do it old school:

Add some fish, in small numbers, over the course of several weeks. Patience is a virtue for a fishkeeper. And yes, you can add any fish you choose. You can speed it up by adding bottled bacteria (e.g. Sera Nitrivec www.seraessentials.com). Follow nitrites and ammonia with water tests to determine when you can add more fish.
