LOL, what do you see before .25 on the test paper? :naughty:
didnt i say less than .25, u guys need to read correctly before make comment..it shows

Hmm, apparantly you failed math

Less than .25 is not = to zero...

well x<.25 is technically an inequality with an infinite number of solution and x=0 is a solution for that inequality but ur right that less than .25 is not zero it is any number less than .25 until negative infinity

i have sucessfully cloned a tank using established filter media and added fish within 24 hours.

even with this 180 that i painstakingly cycled for 4 weeks before adding my fish i used established filter media to start the cycle and to accelerate it. i put a brand new FX5 on it with all 3 baskets filled with ceramic bio-rings. and moved 2 of the sponge filters over. then i squeezed out the other sponge filters every other day and added the bio material to the 180 every other day till i had 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites and 20 ppm nitrate.

ANY time you have ammonia and nitrite that has been converted you WILL have nitrate. i don't know why anyone would think that a fully cycled tank wouldn't have at least some nitrate, even with live plants.

i believe, since you used an established filter from your pond that your tank is cycled and you should start adding fish.

I like your style!

I have been adding bottled ammonia from the hardware store. Reading this morning is 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and 40 ppm nitrate. It is a 120 gal and I know that I didn't have enough of a bioload in it to start the cycle. So adding ammonia plus fish flakes = success.

Btw the water clouded up last night and it is already clear again. I am 99% sure I have a super strong bacteria colony already in my tank.

I am about to add one of my Koi to this tank just to test how it does. rated a 3-5-4-4-4. (out of 5's) as a grow out since the cold stunted his growth/: Wish me luck!

Okay Swimming around and open/close mouth because of stress. Seems fine?
