How long will it take to cycle a 240 Gal tank? Using Fishless Cycling?

along time a couple months to a year

i have a 240 gallon and am doing fishless cycle. im using ammonia and its been 2 weeks now. my ammonia comes back down within 7 hours and my nitrites starting to come down. i used sand and other things from an established tank. hopefully my tanks done in one more week. ill post some pics when its done

you could squeeze someones filter in there and add some ryobic k37 (lowes $15), i would say the full gallon. i used a half gallon on my 115 and it was cycled overnight. ive used this method on 2 tanks, my buddy used it, my LFS used it too. you could have your tank cycled in 2 days to be safe. just my opinon good luck

make sure the gallon jug smells like rotten eggs if not dont get it find one that does

that sounds like a good way to cycle ill try that next time. right not its just fishless. whats in the ryobic k37?

well this is a fishless cycle...roebic k37 is actually septic tank treatment "add specially cultured bacteria that accelerate the break down of sewage waste. it contains no harsh chemicals that can destroy the natural bacteria neede by your septic system to run properly" worth a shot......just pour the full gal in your tank and sqeeze out another filter into the tank and you should be good to go.....i just used it this weekend picked up a 60 gal hex tank yesterday, left the gravel in it and just drained the water out of the filter but DID NOT RINSE it, kept 10 gal of previous water, then just filled the rest with water and poured in about 1/4 of the gal and cleared up and was ready for fish in just under 2 hrs. the tear down move and set up plus adding fish only took me 6 hrs....1 1/2 tear down and move it....1 to set it up just right..... .5 geting the filter running..... .5 adding h2o......rest was just waiting time. check out my post to see the tank http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=312100
good luck

How much stability should I use for the 240 gallon?, will it help if i squeeze dirty filters in the tank also?
