I'll be setting up a tank in a few days & I'm debating which bacterial additive to use. I'm considering Microbe Lift Nite Out, Stability, or Dr Tim's One & Only. I currently use Microbe Lift PL on my pond with great results, However I've used Nite Out before with no results after 10+ days, but I did buy it @ Petco so I guess it could have been old or kept too warm for too long. I've also used Dr Tim's One & Only, but it seems to have a lot of organics in it that create a heavy slime on all the surfaces in the tank. Just wanted to get opinions from those of you that have experience with the various brands. Thanks alot!

Just take used media from an existing tank and refill it with new
So your new filter has at least 50 ready bacteriafied media

Lightly stock straight away then that's what I do

Seeded media is of course #1 as far as additives I'm a fan of stability, I've used it a few times to help a cycle along.

^I agree with the old media being the best. I'm a personal fan of the Tetra Safe Start, its relatively inexpensive and works really well. The Dr. Tim products are also pretty good from what I hear, the other Dr. Tim products are really good so I would expect this to be no exception.

I want to try Dr.Tim's for a quick start of a reef tank as well. If anyone has done this already please let me know how it went for you.

Old media aside, I've only ever used cycle and have never had any issues. I cant comment on the other products.

Only have used stability once but it worked and fairly quickly. I'd shake the heck out of the bottle before you pour out the doses if you do use it.
