K KrazEDesigns Feeder Fish MFK Member Dec 4, 2012 235 1 0 Canada Feb 9, 2013 #14 If your nitrates are zero right now when you test then do this (other post was edited) Rinse test tube & cap in tank water Fill to 5ml Shake Nitrate bottle 1 for 30 seconds - add drops to tube Cap tube & pick up bottle 2 - simultaneously shake bottle 2 and the test tube for 30 full seconds Uncap test tube & add drops of bottle 2 Cap & shake for a full minute Set aside & wait 5 minutes - what colour is it?
