Intro :
I started my new tank project 8 months ago. delays after delays i finally got it done 1 1/2 week ago
The problem is that i had already started collecting the fishes for my arowana community tank and they grew and before i knew it they were too big too many to be in the tank they where in.

11 asian arowana 4" to 6"
1 silver arowana started at 3.5 but is outgrowing everybody
1 FRT ( 1.3 kg ) was 6 years old when the project started
4 Big Dat
Lived together in 2 x 220g with less than adequate filtration: 4 X Marineland 530c and 2 x fx5 but thanks to the magic of 2 x 40% water change a week I was able to keep my water parameter to 0 amonia 0 nitrite and 5ppm nitrate But then one of the 220g started leaking A LOT so i had to make of my 150g hospital tank into temporary housing for 5 of my smaller arowana
Then things got a bit complicated in my 220g The Royal Rumble started
even the Dats got in on the action it was Aro VS Aro VS Dat. The only one who seemed not phased by all the commotion was my FTR she was busy destroying everything else ( sponge filter, heater probe, air bubble bars ... )
So i asked a friend to house 3 of my Dats, i partitioned the tank but that damn FRT kept on undoing my partitions, so keeping law and order plus water quality became a daily chore from HELL
Now add to that the fact that there was a 10.5 foot tank slowly being built in the remaining space in the living room, and my wife loosing her mind .....
Anyways you get the picture.
That brings us the topic of this thread
I finally got that 10 ft tank sump and plumbing finished and somehow i convinced myself that if i used all my canfilter media + Prime + Stability + 250g of used tank water + 250g of aged water i would have a cycled tank in no time WRONG i should of known better. ANYWAY IT DONE this is where i am
Now im at .5 ppm amonia 0 nitrite 10 ppm nitrate at this point im doing 50% water change daily with prime treated water and stability.
Tomorrow im getting a new test kit that will tell me what my ammonia VS ammonium. hopefully its all ammonium.
Conclusion
I will spare you the should of/ could of/ would of.
Instead i will just ask you for your advice on the situation at hand . surely someone has some insight on what lies ahead :
How long till i am cycled, should i do more than 50% daily water change should i do less ???? anything else i should know.
Here is a pic of my wet dry sump i got lots of matrix, biosphere, and those ceramic rings
Thanks in advance PLEASE DONT BE TOO HARSH
