I would have these balls on top followed by the biospheres and then the matrix submerged ( or not ? ) and then the ceramic rings submerged

I am feeding every 2 days exept the turtle cuz she will go after the bichir if she gets hungry .

Bioballs in the overflow boxes .....hummmm i fell like they would find theyre way to the sump i have a 2" durceau

Floating plants i tought about that but i feel again like they would also end up in the sump the fish guard i use for the overflow is eggcrate so the squares are pretty big also that damn turtle will shread them and only cause decaying matter

Damn turtle ....... but i LOVE her

so i got the matrix on top then bioball then biosphere and in the submerged part i got the ceramic rings.
The good news is my ammonia is down to .25 nitrite 0 nitrate 5 ppm
i only changed 90g this morning. so i guess im on the right track.
i will still take any advice and or input

I would actually put Small Bio Balls on top, Large Bio Balls, then Matrix, then Rings.

I'd also try to set-up a drip tray and have a pre-filter on top of the drip tray. Maybe a filter sock, or Filter Floss.

And the part about the bacteria is still out for debate IMHO, But it is Fact that Bio Balls work better in a trickle rather then submerged.

Also just be aware that the BB in a bottle will make you think your tank is cycled but you more then likley have another cycle once you stop using it.

I got the prefilter covered. water goes true the purflow before going to the sprinkler .
Thanks for the order of media i will go to that now .
