Above and below shots from Lake Gatun in Panama where the surrounding trees send roots directly into the lake to suck up nutrients like phosphate and nitrate.
And giant rafts of Hyacinth, and other aquatic plants soak up nutrients.
I collected number of plants for my tank and refugium, in Gatun, along with small fish to begin its cycle.
