theres so many of them around here, i just dont see why it would be illigal. thats like telling me its illigal to cut the top off a small maple or something, just doesnt make any sense. Im a deputy sheriff and ive never heard of anything like that here, which with what i do i probably wouldnt but still, i have agood friend who is a wildlife resource officer, ill see if he might have any insight.

Wikipedia says that cutting them won't kill the trees. I had to Google what they actually were...

Either way, ive been told they wont hurt my fish as long as certain steps are taken...they are as good as mine lol
