yup they do get big but dont think the tilapia can reach up to 9 lbs more like 2 to 3 pounds for average. Plus in Florida peacock bass regularly eat them in canals..

those large Oreochromis species are still cool, very large fish that seem to have great personalities. All over canals in many places in FL
