Heard about this quite some time ago. The mile thing was probably exaggerated a bit. Although not by much. I feel sorry for the employes who built that car, only to have is completely annihilated. Feels like, a waste of life.
Actully reports put the chase/race...it was never determined exactly what was going on at quite a few miles...
The Enzo is one car you can't just walk in off the street with a bag of cash and buy..if fact it's closer to a lease arrangement between the owners and the factory. You have to be a well established owner to be invited to lease one...said lease to be paid in a SINGLE installment by the way...
I've often seen cases of performance cars crashing at high speeds and the drivers being surprisingly OK.
Despite their small, sleek, and possibly fragile/vulnerable appearance, some of them are obviously incredibly well made. I think it's quite a feat of engineering of strength/shock absorbing chassis that drivers can walk away from crashes like this.
Colin Zampatti, crashed his Ferrari 360 Spider outside the Windsor Hotel, on the corner of Mends Street and Mill Point Road in South Perth, about 7pm (WDT) on Sunday.
Mr Zampatti, 42, has now been charged with driving under the influence, a charge which only applies over a 0.15 blood alcohol level three times the legal limit.
