Dr Tims is THE REAL DEAL! Instant cycling. I use it for all my tanks. In fact things like prime and ammo-lock only slow down the cycling process.
To speed cycling you can 'plant' a tank (or in this case a pond) with decorations from another tank, which contains Bb. This helps speed things up.
How exactly do they slow the process? What tests have you run ?

I believe he or she was referring to the fact that Ammo-Lock states that it neutralizes ammonia, and Prime claims it removes it. Either of these could arrest the process, because if Prime is removing ammonia, then there's no ammonia to feed hungry bacteria, and therefore, they don't grow, and the process does not begin. This is what I'm guessing that poster was talking about. However, I have also heard many accounts of Ammo-Lock causing a false positive on ammonia tests. So, I use prime to remove chlorine/chloramine, adn don't use Ammo-Lock on anything, because I don't believe in controlling water quality with chemicals at all, anyway.

I am so glad you got it cycled for ya , Hopefully your fish all made it I can only imagine what it was like to go through such an experience like that

The Aro made it through this process, and lived for a couple more weeks, but we believe he injured himself during the move, and he died. He never really ate. It was a very sad loss, especially since the majority of the fish placed in the pond (other than the RTC) have been rescues, and I hated for it to happen to a fish we were supposed to be helping. However, he wasn't in great shape before the move, so we weren't exactly starting from the best possible point. Other than that, the fish are happy and healthy in their new home.

Actually , I have given it a lot of testing and comparison and prime simply locks up the ammonia and the bio filter still gets rid of it(Hence still gets its food) I don't believe there is any product that simply vaporizes ammonia they all bind it into a less toxic substance that the beneficial bacteria still consumes. :D
