Dam craigslist!!!!

Ive gotten a few good things off craigslist,a few dead ends too.Its to be expected on free ads

Just a few weeks ago saw 175g tank $150 a few emails got no reply,next week same ad up edited to 75g tank it happens

I don't understand how someone can have an aquarium and not even know what they have.

They write terrible ads that don't even properly describe the item.
no or wrong gallon listing
no dimensions
no pictures
asking too much money
use 'fish tank' instead of aquarium

I seems like people think 'neat fish! I'll buy a setup!' They then spend a lot of money, wonder why all the fish die, and then tear it down and store it in the garage till they need the space. Since they never learned anything, they can't even describe what they're trying to sell.

This makes it harder for the CL buyer, but it means there are some good buys for the knowledgeable/lucky/persistant buyer.

BTW: that ad doesn't look like a 300G to me. The tank in the picture doesn't look 8'X3'X2'!!

i have to agree that based on the picture...
it does not look like a 300 gal with the 8ft x 3ft x 2ft as dimensions.

This guys post a 300 gallon tank with everything for $500 and his phone number is diconnected.

lol he probably needs to sell his tank to pay his phone bill but can't sell his tank because he hasn,t paid his bill from the proceeds from selling his tank.

wow great pice for 95 gal with everything... I paid 140$ for a complete 30 gal with eclipse system 3 filteration and everything, came with rocks, gravel, plants, 3 bala sharks, thought was good deal .. but I have no room for bigger then a 30 >.<

That is no 55 gallon

It doens't look 300g but more like a 135g 72" x 18" x 24", but pics can be decieving. I think its someone just pulling a prank. If a few people will flag it, the posting will be delete and if it is for real I'm sure the seller will relist it.

Would be a heck of a deal though

CL is VERY hit and miss. Most people here think their tanks are worth too much but if youre patient good deals do come around.

Ill be picking this up sometime next week. Paid $350 for everything

The pic on Craigslist is bogus. It is a manufacturers marketing picture, evidenced by the neat and tidy display of equipment that is still in the original boxes.

Think about it. If you brought that tank home, would you neatly display the equipment in the tank in their original boxes, or would you be rip open the boxes to get the tank set up as soon as possible?

My guess is that somebody is serving up a nice dish of revenge for an ex or somebody. They are trying to get the world to ring their phone off the hook. This probably isn't the first add with this number since the number is already disconnected.

i just bought a 120 that had the light, oak stand, and the tank for $110. even though i had to buy the lid and a new bulb i still got a steal compared to what i would have paid for at the pet store. (i already have a filter for it). i saw someone on myspace selling a 180 complete setup (the pic of the supposed 300 actually looks like a 180) for 1000 cash. im sure i could tlak him down more then that. money waved in ones face talks!! lol i wish i had the money to get that.
