damn bloodworms

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
so are bloodworms essentiel or can i replace them with smt else??

No, bloodworms are not an essential food stuff for loaches. There are numerous other foods that will provide the same nutrients, and more, than bloodworms can. Personally I have never fed them to loaches, or any other fish for that matter.

Actually my loaches don't get any worms or snails in their diet. They eat 1mm and 3mm NLS sinking pellets daily and seem very healthy and active. Occasional treats of brine shrimp, cut up krill, emerald entree or mysis are fed for variety.

Should be no problem, I have changed my Brine to the Spirlina Brine for some veggie matter when I can't get Zukes. Let me know if you need some of the gloves, I work for a large MRO Company and I can send you a box. But is it worth it to you? Your diet seems on the great side to me. My Yoyo's get a combo of NLS, Danichi, BS, SBS, and Mini Krill, yet I have noticed even the smallest swimming to the top for the Favored Mini Krill....

Nuthman~

I don't have any problems with my clown loaches eating as they are pigs at feeding time, but I have 6 loaches and as you have only 2 they probably are not as confident. Loaches like to travel in pack so to speak at least five to make them feel comfortable. Maybe you could add a few more to the tank if there is enough room.

Thanks Nuth as always but I'll still pass on the bloodworms.

I was thinking along the lines as well. There is nothing funny with allergies especially when most people suffer a great deal because they touched something they didn't know would make them allergic.
