I am only in the hobby for the past couple of years but I had a weird start. Most people start out with bunch of guppies or tetras and like a 10 gallon tank. I started out with a 60Gallon with Jack Dempsey and a Green Terror. I have been keeping large fish since day 1.

Within the last couple of weeks I setup a 30 and a 55 gallon of small fish. I have some neons, small gouramies, corys, and other CRAP like that. Oh boy am I disappointed. Loaches are the only normal ones..

All the large fish I ever had, each and single one had a personality. You had softies and you had psychos that would attack the glass, don’t even think of sticking your hand in the tank! Always would greed you, and would always love to get a snack. These small piece of **** fish, I walk in the room they freak out and hide. I turn on/off the light they freak out and hide. I throw food in the tank and they freak out and hide. Nothing happens at all, they freak out and hide. I hate little fish with a passion! No wonder people say fish are stupid and there is no point of keeping them.

Just for that I am going to go buy a 90 and get myself another Buttikoferi or Texas Cichlid.

well if you do get a texas or butti. you will have some healthy feeders ;)

What exactly were you expecting though?

Same with me....We started with a 55gal....we had 2 Oscars, and a TSN, and another catfish, we got all this from a friend who was moving...for $100!!! This was about 6 years ago. We have since upgraded to several large tanks, and more big fish...But we just had to get the little crappy fish, like the ones you have....I hate them too...Once and awhile I will net out a couple and feed them to my other fish, my boyfriend just thinks they are dieing off...lol...I want to get rid of them, and start a small cichlid tank...hehehe...so diabolical....hahahah

Jen ;)

I was not expecting aggressive behavior but I did not expect them to be scared of absolutely everything that moves.

The one tank I have had set up for awhile now, and the fish just swarm up at the surface for their food...Its kind of funny, but the other tank is a different story, the run & hide all the time....Slowly but surley, they have been dissapearing...he he he he (evil little giggle)

They are not scared of everything, they just get a kick out of pissing you off.
