My salvini is being extremely aggressive ever since he pretty much slaughtered my Mota that was twice the size of him and he is 5.5 inches( I thought my sis sparyed the tank with lysol but she didn't spray my 40 she sprayed my 15 killing my ram and tetras). I think he's the one who finished my FM off the other day after the FM fought the Convict. Now he bit my convict on the side leaving a big circular mark with some missing scales. Now I know why my con has been having no coloration for a couple days. He is being a real A**hole to everything in the tank. Suprisingly he hasn't killed the B. Splendens in the tank. Now I am going to go buy more tanks and putting the con in one with his own little girlfriend from Rapps. Do you think if I tried to get a mate for my sal he will just kill her? I think he would be too overly aggressive but I have never bred Sals. Do they calm down near each other? They will be in a 40 BRD.

i have a 6" female in a 125 with a 7" female festae and 10" male black belt and she runs the tank

Tough spot you're in Cross...Salvini are awesome, but a MAJOR pain when they lose their cool.
What size tank will you be buyinig? A BIG one? The only thing I can think of would be to put him in a real big tank with super aggressive fish twice his size. Very surprised he wasted your mota

If you get another, better use an eggcrate divider just to be safe. Salvini won't get along anything that resembles them in shape or color, thats why your motague was an immediate target, especially in a small tank like a 40. I believe those great colors are a warning for everything else to stay away.
Yeah he reminds me of a dinosaur because the markings are VIBRANT lol. He changes different colors when he sees other fish. I had never ever had a problem with him at all. Now I know once that they reach over 4" they turn to homocidal maniacs. The only reason the Mota was in there was because he had to have a place to stay while the 125 was being set up. The Salvini is definately staying in his 40. He isn't going near another fish for a while i guess. My con is going into his own 30 gallon with my soon to be ordered from Rapps female convict. My convict is my prized fish so he's coming out ASAP.
