that is crazy! its so funny watching them swim
i found it funny a couple times where the fish sits at the bottom and it just uses it's fin to rotate pivoting on it's belly
seriously, what the hell are they feeding these guys in japan? are they obese or are they all like this?

I think they are bred to look that way.They do some pretty perverted things to goldfish over there.
I had a black Moor that I had for 15 years in a 40 hex that looked like that. Kept him on a non-heated enclosed porch. It use to get real cold out there but never froze/ I think he liked it on that porch. That was one of the most owner responsive fish I have ever owned. Goldies are actually really cool fish to have.
I know if i ever have to come back as a fish... i definitely don't want to come back as a gold fish based on some of the photos i've seen... the monstrosities people create... although i guess to each his own...
