yeah its just cuz its a baby that made me worry more, had plenty of adults do it in the past and didnt care so much, just wasnt sure on baby snakes.

Is he losing weight?

I have never kept a hognose, but for other snakes I have learned that as long as it is not losing weight, it is not a big issue. I dont know if you do, but you may want to track his weight. That may help you get an idea of where he stands.

Sorry I cant be more help

I asked Brian at snakebytes bhb if I should get a fire belly toad or if I could try scenting a pink with my tomato frog,he said the tomato frog for sure. Now,I gotta just lmao at the thought of rubbing a dead pinky all over my tomato frog, the look on his face, this should be fun,and too me for some reason just funny as hell.

I dont have a scale now,but I will be getting one in not too long for these situations,I sold mine back when I quit breeding.

depends if it it is a western, southern, or eastern. IF it is not a western, good luck.

When i had my western hognose, every winter it went around 4 months with out eating. At this point, I just turn of its heat pad, and stored it around 65-70 degrees. Then when spring came, I warmed the temperatures up, and he began to eat weekly. He did this his first year. DO NOT USE A NON NATIVE amphibian to scent, toxins can kill the snake. Buy a southern toad, a spade toad, or any other bufo species from the US to scent it.
