Well after last weeks Extreme massacre here... Theres more problems,
last week my test kit was faulty and didnt show a huge amonia spike that killed more then half of my fish..

well now all thats alive is 1 Asian Red Tail Catfish
4 Hujeta Gar
and a ghost knife

well the ARTC has Very bad Fin Rot now....
How do i cure him ASAP
How do i not let my Hujeta get it (most important!!)

I read online and it says bad water parameters(the amonia spike) and Stress (the amonia spike) would cause it.. so why does no other fish have it?

what do i do? it is MOST important to save my hujeta, they are very hard to get localy and are by far my favorite fish. id love to save the catfish to but if thats not possible, what do i do?

Should i give up fish keeping?
ive lost 60% of my fish in two weeks! after 2 months without a hitch.. WHATS GOING ON!

Id do some water changes of you have an ammonia spike. Depending how bad the spike is could be daily every other day water changes to get it back in check.

Don't quit dude. I lost every fish but one once (ammonia). Then again I lost about 40% (power outage).

Learn and move on. Plus its complete sweetness to buy new fish!!!

well before u start treating the fish make sure u know what the spike came from and make sure u don't have any resulting nitrite or nitrate spikes... getting the water quality right first is the most important thing. without the good water there is no amount of treating that will help u'r fish live. but as for fin rot put u'r salt up to bout .3-.4% and get some maricyn products. should help a bit. post if not.

the water parameters are under control, tho im still not sure what caused the spike,

as for the fin rot, what kind of salt and where do i get it? ive never had to use it before.. and how do i know how the salt is at 3-4%?

thank you guys!
