i hope you guys dont think this is sick, but i was thinking of cutting off the head and boiling it in water to get the skull cleaned....... but after cleaning the slime off the fish and looking how impressive it looks even though it is only 20 inches, im thinking of having it mounted. idk, still thinking about it, so its in the freezer. anyone have a mounted gar? anyone know of a good place in the milwaukee wisconsin area thats good at mounting gars? prices?

also, so i have a 120 gallon tank all set up. kinda want to get another gator gar, but know that in a couple yrs i will need a big pool or something for it so i am trying to talk myself out of it. ive dont the nedle nose gar thing, and i dont like how beat up store characins look. also not really into cichlids. you guys got any ideas? ive got some live plants in the tank. a submerged log. i dont want to switch to saltwater because of how much more work is involved. thinking a of a bowfin, but i know those get like 36inches. i know these are cold water fish, do bowfins grow that fast. thinking of a walleye too maybe.
