The "dance" I found, happens when 2 Dats are going for the same spot in the chain. You will not see the larger dats "dancing" with smaller ones as the small one will know it could not put up a fight and will just run/hide. This is what I have noticed anyway.
It will usually take place between 2 Dats that are somewhat equal in size, since they both feel they have a right to that next spot in the pecking order.
