Had the idea recently to start trying out other plants as emergent growth and dandelions were a thought to me as even a large plant would be contained by my canopy.
After about a month I've got a ton of roots and some good leaf growth.
Another thought with the dandelion is the leaves are edible for vegetarian fish.20200502_075811.jpg20200502_080812.jpg

Wow, that is a lot of roots!
I want to try some dandelion recipes this summer. If my family likes them I’ll have to bring some in to grow in the tanks for winter eating. ?

Yes it is yarrow. That went in monday. New roots are already an inch.
aren't most grocery store dandelions grown hydroponically?

Such a cool video. Do they come from a region that does the seasonal flooded vegetation thing? My hope for the dandelion is mainly to provide a snack source for the young vieja in the tank. Could also do good things for my nitrates.

That’s awesome. I have some yarrow that tends to outgrow its designated spot. I think I’ll plant some in my bog pond? Thank you for sharing your plant experiments!
