Okay, most of us didn't drop $5000 to get a professional fish room. If you're anything like me, you're stalking facebook nabbing free 10g tanks and heaters and using old furniture for stands. So in this chaos, you've improvised lids, lights and more. What are some things you know another fishkeeper wouldn't touch in your fish room that's okay with you for now?

Mine:

Old picture frame glass for tank lids that I haven't sanded down, so they are still sharp.

Nasty dangling powerstrips.

Salvaged lamps and lights that stay put unless you look at them funny, then they lean to the side until you fix them.

Light bulbs over water prevented from falling in but still potentially splashed a little once in awhile.

Stuff stacked in odd piles that seem to have no category, yet I know were at one time placed there with some sort of strategy in mind though I've forgotten the original intent.

Free garbage fish food you use as an occasional filler meal to help stretch the life of your good foods.

Okay, what are yours?

Haha. I keep my setups pretty neat, but some of my power cord situations are sketchy, and my 125 definitely isn't level. ;)

2 of my tanks only have heaters... and my spiney eel/gar tank has no lid or light!

thats funny, in my room im the only one allowed to mess with the plugs because i have found out the hard way where the "hot" wires are. and certain tanks that could probably light up a bulb if i dropped one in from all the sketchy heaters!

My sixty gallon tank is sitting on two stands end to end.:D

i used to use a folding table as a tank stand :D AND i had power strips plugged into power strips, not a good idea. Luckily its all resolved now, lol

Are you talking about the one you can still see in your 'updated fish room pics' link?? LOL!

And I have to say, that I really do keep mine really neat.. OCD! The only thing I can think of is that my 20g planted does not have a lid, because the lamp I have doesn't allow one to fit. .. or I don't know what I'm doing.. one or the other...

yea probably! That link is not so updated :D

gets trickier and trickier the more tanks you have. Especially once you make that leap over 50.
