Hi everyone just wondered if anybody could help with what this dark mark on my red hook silver dollar! I only noticed it today and it wasn’t on there yesterday! It’s only on a quarter of the fish! All other silver dollars are fine! Nothings changed diet wise and w/c routine which is 50% every 3-4 days!

Looks likely from an injury.

I don’t know but I would say that if the fish acts normal, then the only thing is to keep observing and to maintain impecable water quality (even better than normal). Although it could be an injury, something that extensive should be accompanied by at least a scrape or so, and apparently that is not the case. So I am not so sure of what kind of injury would that be. Very interesting. Post additional (side) pictures?

Stocks been the same for about 2 years! There’s no scales missing or scratches! I’ll try and get a full on side view but they all shoal and face the same way ??‍♂️ It’s weird cause it’s literally half of one side of him so I’m guessing it could be some type of “bruise”

I remember a thread where this happened to a flowerhorn. I’m pretty sure it was concluded to be from a head injury due to ramming the glass too hard.
