i had all white, then all black,now i have white and black in some tanks and some tanks are all black and all white.. i like all black better tho... excpet they darken the fish a bit.

from what i understand they also come in different particle sizes as well, i'd go with a more fine sand.
If you're using sand, use a coarser sand (I'm not sure if this is pool sand) and RINSE RINSE RINSE!!
We've used it plenty of times in our tank, and the silt usually settles quickly, but if you rinse hot and cold, it never clouds.
Anyways, whatever you chose will look best to you!! ^^
