D polota, they grow very slowly and i just sold a 6-7''er that grew 1'' in around 5 months.
they will eat smaller fish that fit in their mouth and are usually ok with other fish of similar or larger size.

check here .... http://www.datnioides.com/datnioides_uk___d_polota.htm

the new sites not finished yet and im still on the old one, infos the same though.

See it's the 'usually' bit that is concerning me. I have a 3" L066 (plus others but he's the smallest) to go in the tank and would be somewhat irked if it was eaten.

I actually have an L066 in one of my dat tanks. They show no interest in him at all. My guy is about 3.5"...maybe 4" and he's in with a 7" silver dat and a 5.5" NGT.

Honestly, I don't think you'll have any problems at all.

Hey, I have some questions about American Tiger dats.
I'm going to be setting up a growout for a black aro this summer, along with the black aro I plan to have 4xTinfoil barbs.

Would the AT's be ok with the barbs? barbs are about 4'' BTW.

Whats the average price for AT's? I know they are cheaper than most dat's but I havent seen them for sale on MFK for a while.

Well I got him. :) He's a real character and I'm trying to get him to hand feed without losing a finger. I may be able to give him a tank of his own now rather than risking other fish (I've now got denison barbs for the still not arrived six footer and I reckon they'd be an expensive snack).

sweet. the barbs will probably be fine if they're too large to eat.

i have had zero problems with mine and it's in freshwater and was at the LFS i got it from.

AT silver tiger

they are ment to be kept in a brackish water tank but many people keep them in full fresh water

if kept in full fresh water all their lives they may never get to full size and they may get sick alot
